Lennard beat Plant City 19-14 on the road Friday, extending the Longhorns' winning streak to five games and improving their record to 5-1 overall and 2-0 in district play.

Across town, East Bay beat Freedom 45-0 in the Indians' highest-scoring game of the season.

Both South Shore programs head into Week 7 with momentum. Lennard hosts undefeated Tampa Bay Tech, while East Bay welcomes Strawberry Crest.

Senior quarterback Antonio Balaguer threw for 278 yards and a touchdown, averaging 12.1 yards per attempt, according to MaxPreps. Junior receiver Chayse Brown had 167 receiving yards and a touchdown. Brown has averaged 1.8 receiving touchdowns per game over his last four outings, up from 0.4 in his previous 13 games.

Plant City fell to 3-2. Andrew Perez and Taevion Parker scored for the Raiders in the loss.

The Longhorns opened the season with a loss at Armwood and have not lost since. They outscored opponents by an average of 23.8 points in their previous four wins, and the defense has allowed just 21 total points in the last three games.

"Now we want to go deeper in the playoffs ... They know how to win football games," coach K.B. Belton told the Osprey Observer in an August preseason preview. "Now it's, 'Can we continue to win and win playoff games?' I think that's been the motivator."

Lennard has improved its win total every season under Belton, now in his fourth year leading the program: 3-7 in 2023, 6-4 in 2024 and 8-3 in 2025.

Farragut, East Bay shut out winless Freedom

Quarterback Cannon Farragut threw for 122 yards and three touchdowns on just 10 passes and added a rushing touchdown, according to MaxPreps. The win was East Bay's second shutout of the season.

Freedom entered the game with eight consecutive road losses dating to last season and dropped to 0-5 with its ninth.

The Indians, led by second-year coach DeAndra Simmons, improved to 4-2. East Bay has won four of its last five home games, averaging 39.0 points in those victories.

Undefeated Tampa Bay Tech tests Lennard next

Lennard's game against Tampa Bay Tech at 7:30 p.m. Friday shapes up as the Longhorns' biggest test since the Armwood opener. Tech is 6-0 after blanking Bloomingdale 41-0 last Friday and is ranked No. 20 in Florida by Sports Illustrated. Quarterback Martavius Conway Jr. threw for 227 yards and two touchdowns against Bloomingdale, and running back Kesean Smith rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns, according to MaxPreps.

East Bay hosts Strawberry Crest at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
